HOW DO I GET THERE?
BUREAU is located at 1800 Wyoming Ave NW on the 3rd floor of the Skynear Building. Click for Google maps.
DO YOU HAVE AN ELEVATOR?
We wish. BUREAU is in a historic building where stairs are the only way up.
Ah, the bane of DC - parking is limited and the nearest lots and garages are kind of overpriced. The area has metered 2-hour parking and some free 2-hour parking on the residential streets around the building. We recommend Lyft, Uber, cab or, who knows, maybe a bicycle, you saucy fit person!
The nearest metro stations are Dupont Circle (Q St exit) on the red line, and U Street (13th St exit) on the yellow/green lines. The circulator also makes frequent stops a block from the space.
CAN I TEST THE SPACE BEFORE BECOMING A MEMBER?
Absolutely! We offer a $25 one-day pass so you can try BUREAU on for size before committing to a membership. Should you decide to sign-up while you're in, we'll credit the $25 to your first month of membership.
CAN I HAVE A TOUR?
We would be happy to have you in for a tour! We offer tours Monday through Friday between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Tours must be scheduled with a member of our staff, as we cannot make ourselves available for drop-ins or last-minute inquiries.
CAN I DO A MONTH-TO-MONTH MEMBERSHIP?
Yes, however, your next month’s rate would then be subject to change if our membership rates increase (or decrease). Members are required to inform us 30 days in advance of cancelling any membership type to avoid being charged for the following month.

DO YOU HOLD DATES?
We will hold the date for your event when your event contract has been signed and deposit has been paid. As we are a boutique space with high demand, we cannot hold dates without these commitments.
HOW DO I GET IN?
The exterior doors of the building will be unlocked for the duration of your event. The BUREAU door is outfitted with a keypad deadbolt, for which you will receive a PIN code in advance. This PIN code will only function one time during your pre-paid reservation, so please do not close the door once it has been opened until you’re leaving.
SHOULD I SCHEDULE SETUP & BREAKDOWN TIME?
Setup and breakdown time must be included in your rental time. For example, if your party will be for 2 hours and you need 30 minutes for set-up and 30 minutes for breakdown, the rental would be for 3 hours.
HOW CAN I CHECK OUT?
Once you’re all cleaned up and packed away, just turn off the lights, stop the music, and close the BUREAU door behind you. Our deadbolt locks automatically when the door is closed, so you’re all set there!
SHOULD I CLEAN UP AFTER?
Yes, please be a great guest (and avoid a $150 cleaning fee) by leaving BUREAU the sparkling place you found it. You must put moved furniture back, take everything you brought back home with you, take out your trash from the bathroom and kitchen, vacuum, mop and wipe down surfaces. Help yourself to our Clorox wipes, trash bags, paper towels, Swiffer wet wipes, and any other cleaning product you need during your rental time. We stash cleaning goodies under the kitchen sink, in the bathroom vanity, and in the coat closet next to the moss-filled fireplace. The dumpsters are located out BUREAU’s back door next to our sofa, at the bottom of the stairs.

ARE FOOD AND DRINK INCLUDED?
Food and drink are not included in our rentals, but we have lots of suggestions! Here are some of our favorites: JRINK Juicery, Relish, Buttercream Bakeshop, True Syrups, Sweets by E, GetPlated, Arepa House DC, Cookie Couture, Vegetable + Butcher.
DO YOU HAVE TABLES FOR FOOD & THINGS?
We have multiple tables that you can use for food. We have a few white lacquer tables or a large wooden table in our conference room area. Renters are required to use table coverings on any surfaces that food or drink will be served on.
CAN I USE VENDORS NOT ON YOUR LIST?
Sure! Bring in anyone you want as long as everyone follows our rental rules! We’re happy to secure vendors for you; these services are provided at an additional cost.
CAN I BRING IN FURNITURE?
Sure! Just remember to muscle up; BUREAU is on the third floor and there is no elevator. We have tons of furniture though (scroll down for list).
CAN I BRING KIDS?
Sorry! BUREAU is strictly 21+ with the exception of immobile babies. Show us all the pictures of your kids you want, though. xoxo
CAN I LIGHT CANDLES OR SMOKE? IS THERE SEXY LIGHTING?
No smoking or open flames are allowed at BUREAU, but every light here has a dimmer switch, which functions simply by pressing the main rectangular button – press once to turn on, once to turn off. The dimmer is a slim button on the right of every switch, clearly divided into top and bottom halves – press the top half to brighten, the bottom half to dim.

DO YOU HAVE SPEAKERS?
We have Sonos speakers connected to our WiFi, controlled by the tablet you’ll find left out for you. You can use our paid Spotify or Pandora accounts. You can also control our Sonos system from your phone with the free Sonos app and joining our WiFi network.
DO YOU HAVE A PROJECTOR?
We do not have a projector. We have a large white wall that we can remove artwork from if you would like to bring your own projector.
DO YOU HAVE A MICROPHONE?
We do not have microphones available. Our Sonos speakers are not microphone compatible, but any DJ for your event will likely supply a microphone system.
